MARSICANO, Maxine Wilde, 94, of Tampa, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010, under the care of LifePath Hospice at Canterbury Towers where she had been a resident since 2003. She was born Nov.11, 1916 in Bay City, MI to Thomas E. and Beulah Goulet Wilde. Educated in Michigan, Maxine graduated Wayne University, Detroit, MI with a Bachelors of Special Education and was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. In the summer of 1941, on a vacation to Florida and unscheduled stop in Tampa, she met and married the love of her life, Nicholas J. Marsicano, who preceded her in death February 08, 1970. Our Lord has now reunited them for eternity. Insightful, a lady of quiet strength and wisdom, her presence calming, her voice never raised, she possessed an innate ability to handle life with equanimity.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nicholas J., she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald C. Wilde of MI. She is survived by five loving and admiring children: daughter, Carolyn M. Corvette, Tampa. Four sons, James D. Marsicano and wife Nancy of Colleyville, TX, Thomas A. Marsicano,Tampa, Edward J. Marsicano and wife Lana, Aberdeen, MS and Nicholas P. Marsicano, Lutz. Five grandchildren: David J. Marsicano, Maderia Beach, FL, Susan M. Minton, Brandon, Danielle M. Martinez, Bedford, TX, Nicole Corvette Hockin, Denver,CO and Rachel A. Marsicano, Huntsville, AL. and ten great-grandchildren. Niece, Joyce Humble Falcon, Atlanta, nephews, H. Charles Humble, Houston, TX and Joseph R. Humble, Tampa and other loving cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff of Canterbury Tower whose kindness and respect is demonstrated on a daily basis to all placed in their care. They also wish to extend thanks to the competent and caring members of LifePath Hospice (GoldTeam) who attended their mother.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7PM on Sunday, November 28, 2010 at Marsicano-B.Marion Reed-Stowers Funeral Home. A funeral service will then be held at 11AM on Monday, November 29, 2010 in the chapel at Christ the King Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St.Jude's Childrens Research Hosptial, LifePath Hospice or the charity of one’s choice.
