Michael “Mickey, Mick, Mike, Dad, or Wuelo Mike” as he was all known by, was born on July 13, 1940 in Manhattan, New York. Mike was a devoted husband to his wife, Norma, for 58 years. He worked for 30 years as a Data Services Processing Manager for GTE Data Services, Inc., Alltel, and then Verizon Communications, Inc. He was a lover of baseball, old western movies, and country music. He was a Little League baseball coach for his sons’ baseball teams at West Tampa Little League and Wellswood Pony Baseball League. He loved being around and a part of baseball, even after his sons stopped playing, serving as a Volunteer Board Member for West Tampa Little League, Volunteer Treasurer for District Six (6) Little League in Tampa, and serving as a volunteer Little League Baseball and high school umpire for decades. He was selected to umpire the Little League Baseball World Series Regional tournament games throughout Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. His quiet, soft-spoken nature was enormously overshadowed by his patience, generosity, and his very dry and peculiar wit.
