He was predeceased by his parents, six siblings, a niece, and a nephew. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Dolores, and their four daughters: Cheryl Alexander (Jerry), Lynne Williams (Gene), Patty Rodriguez (Ralph), and Pam Prado (Lelo). Norman was a proud grandfather to Trey Alexander (Jana), Lauren Sawyer (T.J.), Matt Rodriguez, Alexa Rodriguez (Chris Cooper), Rachael Hanley (Mark), Jason Prado, Tyler Prado (Kathryn), and Zach Prado. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Rowan and Amelia Alexander, Grady and Beau Sawyer, Logan and Lillian Cooper, and Lelo James Prado, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Tampa, Norman graduated from Jesuit High School and the University of Tampa. He honorably served his country as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. A dedicated family man, Norman was a coach, a proud "girl dad," an avid sports fan, and an animal lover. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren from the stands—always their biggest supporter.
While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort knowing he is at peace and free from pain. They extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Senior Point Assisted Living and the medical team from LifePath Hospice for their compassionate care during the past year.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2nd, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610.
