Olene A. Duchene

Olene A DuChene was born on September 10th 1933 in Coffee county Georgia. Her father was William Oscar Allen and her mother was Elizabeth Ann (Buchanan) Allen. Olene passed away on May 28th 2025 at the age of 91 years old.

Her family was very poor and there was little opportunity in the area so she moved to Tampa Florida to improve her life. Most of the eight total children also moved to Florida to do the same thing and all of the children were successful.

After Olene was in Tampa she met Joseph F DuChene and after becoming friends they were married and had two children together. Olene was a christian and raised the children in the baptist church to provide them with a moral foundation and moral compass in life. She remained married to Joseph until he passed away and she never remarried.

She was a firm believer in education and hard work. She attended USF to gain accounting skills and started working for an accounting company and after a few years she opened her own business named DuChene Accounting.

Olene enjoyed travel, looking at fall leaves, music and cooking. She was a scratch cook and taught many how to prepare food southern style.

Olene was predeceased by her mother and father and most of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her last brother Edison Allen, daughter Nancy Metz and son Steve DuChene. She has four grandchildren Melissa Metz, Brittany Metz, Kimberly DuChene Trujillo and Joseph DuChene and had many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests at Blount and Curry Funeral Home, 3207 West Bearss Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33618 on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 2:00pm until 3:00pm. Funeral service will take place at 3:00pm. Interment will be private at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
