Pascual A. Altamira of Tampa, Florida, was born in Atimonan Quezon, Philippines on May 17, 1926 to father, Silvino Altamira, and mother, Dolores Alvarez. He was the eldest of seven siblings. Pascual had always been an independent person and was always graciously generous and kind to his family. Though he did not have that much chance to pursue a higher education, his bravery and patriotism led him to be a Guerilla at the age of 19 during World War 2. He was also enlisted as a Special Philippine Scout. Pascual was honorably discharged for his military services from 1945 to 1948.
Pascual had always been a loving husband to his wife, Dionisia, who passed 27 years ago. He was a responsible family man, and never stopped showing his endless love, care, and support to his seven children and nine grandchildren. He never got angry and would always accept his children back with loving arms no matter what the circumstances were.
Pascual was known to be a jolly person with a great sense of humor who loved to sing and dance. He would even make dance steps while walking or even while buying groceries in a supermarket.
Sadly, after several months of declining health, Pascual passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at the age of 94. He died peacefully with his loving daughters, Ysel and Venz, by his side.
The funeral mass will be at held at 11:00 AM at St Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 9724 Cross Creek Blvd, Tampa, FL on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Military honors will follow after the mass.
Friends and relatives who wish to honor and visit Pascual are truly appreciated.
