

Peter Small, affectionately called Raymond by his friends and family, was born on June 9th, 1954 in the town of Bamboo, St. Ann, Jamaica to parents Elkanah and Evelyn Small. Peter was a businessman and started working in the family business, Small’s Bakery, from a very young age. He worked in the bakery, drove the bread van delivering bread throughout the island of Jamaica, and eventually succeeded his father in managing operations at the bakery. Peter was a hardworking, generous, easy going, fun-loving and amiable man. He gave back to the community and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those around him. He was a stalwart of the Bamboo community and known near and far for his good nature and generosity. Peter was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and fought valiantly to preserve his life. He passed away peacefully at the age of 63 in Tampa, Florida on October 31, 2017 – 20 years to the day that his father passed away. Peter is survived by his children Jermaine, Monique, Zahir, Sharae, and Samarie; his sisters, Norma, Pamela, Deborah, Melonae and brother John; his granddaughter Nia; and friends and family throughout Jamaica, the United States, Canada, and England.
