Raymond “Ray-Ray” Marcellus, 93 of Burrville/Watertown, NY passed away Sunday at his home in North Port, FL, that he picked to live out his final days under the nurturing care of his Daughter and Son in Law.
Raymond will join the side of his beloved wife of 55 years, Irene Marcellus, who preceded him in death in 2018. Ray and Irene made FL their home in 1984 and decided long ago to enjoy their eternal rest near the chimes tower in The Garden of Memories Cemetery located in Tampa.
Ray was an avid music lover, specifically old country music, and he enjoyed every chance he got to play his guitar or banjo for an audience!
However, I feel, if you were to ask him what his greatest accomplishment was—Ray would tell you he was most proud of his 20 years of service to our country in the USAF. He was a proud veteran. He was honored to serve his country. Ray loved to joke around and tell a good story, but his true satisfaction, in his final years, was finding a way to put a smile on your face and if you are smiling now—it worked.
Raymond is survived by his two sons, Edward Marcellus (Dorothy), Jerold Marcellus (Susan), his Daughter Debra Pumphrey (Michael), and many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.
