Richard Ellis Seward, 82, of Tampa, FL passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022. He is survived by his beautiful wife Brenda, of 62 years, his two children Jaylene (Bob) and Richard Jr. (Vanessa). Richard cherished his family very much especially his 2 granddaughters, Stephanie (Michael) and Candice, along with his 5 great grandchildren, Evan, Maddox, Chloe, Camden, and Colton. He is also survived by his sister Merycer L. Whitlock.
Words are not enough to express everything that Richard was able to accomplish in his lifetime. He was a hard working, dedicated family man, an avid fisherman, an outdoors man, and never met a stranger. He was a big advocate for the FCA which is now known as the CCA to protect Florida’s marine resources. To have known him was indeed a privilege and an honor. The tributes many of his friends, fellow captains, and family have expressed has even deepened our admiration for Richard! He was a member of Idlewild Baptist Church and enjoyed his time helping there, especially with the children in the Faith, Fish, and Fun group.
A visitation for family and friends will be held before the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service for Richard will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Idlewild Baptist Church, 18333 Exciting Idlewild Blvd, Lutz, FL 33548.
