

Robert Vincent DeMeo, age 78, of Tampa, passed away on December 4, 2025. Born in New Rochelle, New York, on April 23, 1947, Robert’s life was marked by dedication to family, a strong work ethic, and a passion for his community.
Robert graduated from Salesians High School and earned a bachelor's degree in management and marketing from Fordham University, attending Catholic schools throughout his education. His early career began at Singer Sewing Company, but in 1973, moved to Winter Haven, Florida, and started a long and successful career with John Hancock Financial Services. His professional journey took him to Tampa in 1981, then to South Florida in 1989, where he was promoted to regional manager. In 1993, Robert returned to Tampa and transitioned into the healthcare insurance industry. He led the efforts to develop the Humana Guidance Center, which set the national standard for their centers. It was founded to streamline customer interactions, provide comprehensive support for clients, and enhance operational efficiency within the health insurance industry. Through innovative practices and a strong focus on client satisfaction, the center became recognized as a benchmark for excellence, influencing how service centers across the country approached customer care and set performance standards.
After retiring from Humana, he continued to serve others as an independent broker, helping hundreds find the best insurance plans for their needs.
Robert’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He cherished attending their events, from cross country meets and musical performances to dance recitals, lacrosse, football, softball, and baseball games. Nonni, affectionately called by his grandchildren, always offered words of positive encouragement and was endlessly proud of each one of them, creating lasting memories through his unwavering support and love.
He was a devoted fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, holding season tickets for nearly 30 years, and the Tampa Bay Lightning, being a season ticket member for 20 years and celebrating with them when they won the Stanley Cup in Tampa. He also cherished visits to Disney parks, especially when accompanied by his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his ex-wife, Carol DeMeo, and their children and their families: Alina DeMeo Brazzeal and her husband, David, along with their children, Courtney, Savannah, Chazz, and Gabriel; Laura Moore and her husband, Matthew, together with their children, Bella, Giovanna, and Anthony; Dominick DeMeo and his wife, Adria, and their children, Melania, Dominick, and Siena; and Michael DeMeo and his wife, Alisa, with their children, Luca and Stella.
Robert consistently contributed to his community by volunteering with service organizations and addressing neighborhood needs. He was an engaged member of both the Northdale Civic Association and the OWLS.
Robert will be also be remembered for the joy he brought to others, especially through the cookies he loved to bake and share. Family and friends always looked forward to his homemade cookies which became a sweet symbol of his kindness and generosity.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 5:00-7:00PM at Blount and Curry, 3207 W Bearss Ave, Tampa, FL 33618, followed by a memorial Mass, 11:30am Friday, December 12 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N Himes Ave, Tampa, FL 33614.
