

French, Robert A., 74, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on March 26, 2019 with his loving wife Kaye of 52 yrs by his side. He is survived by his wife, Kaye, two daughters, Michelle French-Clark(Jim), Charlene French-Bunch(Kevin) and granddaughter Amber Griffeth; brother Larry French(Sybil), sister Ginny French-Gallagher(Dennis), and nieces and a nephew.
He will be missed greatly and his spirit will be felt eternally. Bob and Kaye were high school sweethearts who loved each other dearly and never parted from each other, except when he was serving our country in the Vietnam War.
He was a former member/deacon at Lake Carroll Baptist Church, employed 21 yrs at the U.S. Postal Service in Tampa/Clearwater, 12 yrs at French & Assoc Financial Svcs and 12 yrs at USF.
He loved the Florida Gators, reading western books and keeping up with his 9th Infantry buddies. He was part of Lt. Jack Benedick’s 2nd Platoon, Charlie Company 4th/47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, ‘Boys of 67’ when it reactivated in May 1966. During his Vietnam War years of service, he received a Purple Heart and many medals. In 2013, he had a Tampa police escort to Central Command-MacDill Airforce Base to receive the Bronze Star- 46 yrs after a deadly battle in Vietnam.
We love you Daddy! We will always remember your special smile, your caring heart, and your warm embrace that you always gave us. No one will ever replace you in our hearts. Love you too babe!
Amber remembers summer sleep overs with you and grandma eating chocolate chip cookies with chocolate milk together. Amber will never forget your smile and warming laugh. You are an amazing grandpa who made her feel extremely loved.
Rest peacefully and we will always remember the wonderful memories we made together.
