Giertsen, Robert H., 96, USMC Reserve Captain & WWII Veteran, of Riverview FL, passed away July 7, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, James H. & Hazel Giertsen, first wife Kay Giertsen and their daughter Roberta Giertsen. He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Giertsen, son Rod Tanner & daughter in law Vivien Tanner. He lived his life with honesty & integrity before men and with a quiet, steady, unwavering faith in God. A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 1pm - 3pm, with Funeral Service at 3pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 East Lake Avenue, Tampa, FL 33610. An Honor Guard Veteran's Tribute to follow at adjacent Myrtle Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lifepath Hospice.
