Rosalie "Mickey" Arcand Hicks

Rosalie Arcand Hicks, aka Mickey, (89) of Tampa, FL passed away on (Thursday, 21 January, 2016) at (Pepin Hospital, Tampa, FL). She was born February 7, 1926 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and has lived in Tampa since 1955. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Napoleon J. (Nap) Arcand, on May 20, 1997, and by her second husband of eight years, Everett C. Hicks, September 19, 2011. She was also preceded in death by one sister Alice Louise Barksdale Graver and two brothers, John Russell Barksdale Jr. and James Basil Barksdale. She is survived by 5 children, Sharron L. Arcand (Ray Baltrus), Tani M. Salyer (Jimmie), and Anita R. Depolis, John M. Arcand (Sandy) and Neal J. Arcand (Amy). One sister Jewell M. Ferm, and one brother, Ronald V. Barksdale. She has multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, nephews, and nieces. She worked for Poe & Associates, Inc. for 28 years as a Claims Examiner and professional liability underwriter before retiring in 1992. She was a member of Insurance Women of Tampa for 25 years, President in 1976, and President of Florida Association of Insurance Women in 1987-88. She was a member of the Downtown Business & Professional Women’s Club of Tampa. She attended Idlewild Baptist Church, Trinity Presbyterian Church, and Bearss Ave. Baptist Church. Memorial services will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 West Bearss Ave., Tampa, FL on February 6, 2016, visitation at 9:30am and a memorial service at 10:00 am, Ph: 813-968-2231.
