Rosalind “Roz” Cole, 89, of Murphy, N.C. passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 at a Hayesville care facility. She was a native of Tampa, Florida, where she had lived most of her life until moving to Murphy to be with family. Roz had worked for Hillsborough County Government as an administrative assistant in various departments. She was a member of the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Tampa, Florida and had also volunteered in the church office. She had a green thumb and was a member of the African Violet Club. She enjoyed all sports, but especially NASCAR and Jeff Gordon; and she was proud to see the Bucs win the Super Bowl. She was a very giving and loving woman who put others needs before her own.
She was the daughter of the late J.B. and Lonie Sires Cameron and wife of the late Stan Cole, who died March 28, 2014.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllisann Humphreys and husband, Stephen, of Murphy, North Carolina; Sher Johnson and husband, Larry, of Jonesboro, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Kerry Humphreys, Jamie Humphreys and Trevor Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Humphreys and Ryan Humphreys.
A graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa, Florida with the Reverend John Reese officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday 12-1 p.m. at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories.
