Ruby Inez Wright

Was preceded in death by her husband Lester Wright Sr. 2 of her grandchildren Aniva Johnson and Maurice Huntley and a foster child DeMichael Wright. Ruby was survived in death by her brother Lee Douglas and 8 children Ruby Josephine Downey, Rebecca Ann Holt, Joyce Sue Huntley, Lester Wright III, Leslie Emmanuel Wright Sr., Ishmell Julius, Wright Sr., Namon Oliver, Wright Sr., and Yonnie Bruce, Wright. Ruby was also survived by her 24 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Ruby was a faithful and dedicated worshiper of Jehovah God spending the end of her life in loyal service of Him! Ruby adored children, and found great pleasure and satisfaction in raising 8 children of her own. She spent most of her life working side-by-side with her husband helping him to be successful in his many entrepreneurial endeavors. She enjoyed cooking and was a lover of flowers. Ruby spent the first 19 years of her life living in Asheville, North Carolina moving to Dayton, Ohio to marry her husband then lived 69 1/2 years there. At the age of 89 1/2 Ruby moved to Florida to live with her seventh child Namon Wright Sr. Where she died only 38 days from her 90th birthday. As we celebrate Ruby’s life and say farewell to her we bear in mind this promise from Jehovah God that he made through his son Jesus Christ at John chapter 11 verse 25 when Jesus said: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, he will come to life!

A visitation for Ruby will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E LAKE AVE, TAMPA, FL 33610. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Garden of Memories Cemetery, E Lake Ave, Tampa, FL 33610.
