Ruth F Griffith

Ruth F. Griffith (Grandma Ruth) of Land O Lakes, passed away on August 13, 2021

at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Tampa, Florida.

Ruth, commonly referred to as “Grandma Ruth” was born in Xenia, Illinois. She

married Hershel Griffith in 1961. They moved to Florida and built a home together

in 1985 which they lived in together until Hershel’s passing in 1991. Soon after the

passing of her husband Ruth started a Day Care in her home. She started watching

Children from all over the neighborhood. For the next 25 years Grandma Ruth

provided a loving home to many children. She would always have home cooked

meals for them, playing games with them, reading to them and taking them for

rides in her mini-van. Grandma Ruth was a woman of great faith and attended

Keystone Church of Land O Lakes. She loved her friendships with her neighbors

and families she grew to know watching their children and of course she loved the

children she had helped raise the most. She loved to watch and feed her birds in

the backyard and doing her puzzles.

Grandma Ruth left a legacy of caring and love for so many children and their

families. She is survived by all the children that called her Grandma and all the

families that she became a part of in the last 25 years.

Ruth will be missed more than words can express but we know beyond any doubt

she was ready and prepared to be with her Lord and her late husband Hershel.
