On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, Mrs. Ruth K. Walters passed away peacefully at the amazingly young age of 98, just 41 days before her 99th birthday on October 13th. She is survived by her only son, William L. Walters III, her grandson Steven L. Walters, her only niece, Terry Walters, and her 4 nephews, Dean, Glenn, Scott, and Keith Walters.
Ruth was born in Zweibrucken, Germany on October 13, 1926. Growing up in the heart of the Rhineland, she was big into physical activities such as sports and calisthenics. In the early 1950's, she worked for the American government after WWII as a German/English translator. While working as a translator, she would meet the man that within 2 years, would become her loving husband of 68 years, William L. Walters Jr.
While her husband was away in the United States Army, Ruth was an amazing homemaker and mother to their son, Billy. She enjoyed decorating their home, but her real enjoyment came from working outside in their yard. "Good Exercise" she would claim. Though at the spry age of 50, Ruth would take on one of her greatest, yet most rewarding, challenges. She was given the opportunity to raise her only grandson, Steven.
Besides being an amazing wife, loving mother and grandmother, Ruth enjoyed an abundance of activities in her later years. She enjoyed cooking and baking, going to the beauty salon on Thursdays to get her hair done and gossip with the ladies, but her most favorite, and most profitable past time, was playing BINGO and the slot machines at the Hard Rock Casino.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
