He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Katherine; children: Michael (Nancy), Scharme (Jason) and Mary (Joshua); his grandchildren: Tabor, Hailey, Lucas, Kaia, and Justin; sisters: Judy and Anne (Bob); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Samuel and Billie).
Sam attended the University of Kentucky (Class of 1968), where he met Katherine. He was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcat, lifetime member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association, past president of the University of Kentucky Tampa Bay Alumni Association Chapter and he never missed a chance to watch The Cats play basketball. He was the proud business owner of Sam Tabor Construction. He loved his family, music, bar-b-que, and the mountains of North Carolina. Sam was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was kind, generous, and selfless. He loved his people well.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
