February 13, 1948– April 22, 2025
Tampa, Florida – On the morning of April 22, 2025, Sandra M. Favata, aged 77, of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully with family by her side.
Born in Tampa on February 13, 1948, She was the ultimate Daughter, Sister and Aunt. She had a gift for making everyone feel cherished—usually with a cheeky grin or a hilarious one-liner. Sandy liked to joke she was born when the television was invented.
Sandy’s heart was as big as her legendary personality. Her passion for animals was boundless—whether sneaking treats to her furry crew or championing every critter from stray pups to sassy raccoons, she was their biggest cheerleader. Her purse was a treasure trove of treats, always ready to delight a wagging tail or a giggling niece or nephew with some of their favorite candies. Her home was a joyful haven, filled with wagging tails, purring pals, and the occasional “adopted” backyard guest. If there’s a pet paradise, Sandy’s already there, orchestrating a puppy parade or pulling out treats for the cats.
She wore her Italian and Cuban heritage like a badge of honor, infusing her life with the flavors and rhythms of both cultures. Her kitchen was a haven of magic, where she whipped up a legendary spaghetti and a sangria so divine it deserved its own fan club. Sandy’s family was her heart’s home, and she made every moment unforgettable. From impromptu cooking to late-night storytelling sessions that left everyone in stitches, Her bold humor could make anyone laugh—her quick wit and playful spirit turned even the simplest moments into comedy gold. She loved to banter about politics, diving into debates with a twinkle in her eye, dishing out clever zingers that kept everyone chuckling, no matter their stance. She didn’t just talk politics—she made it a lively, loving art form, always bridging gaps with her charm. Thoughtful to her core, Sandy remembered your favorite snack or sent a message just to see you smile.
Sandy leaves behind a vibrant tapestry of cousins, friends, and her cherished family, all forever touched by her radiance. Her absence leaves a void, but her spirit lives on in every hearty laugh, every kind gesture, and every tail-wag she inspired. Sandy leaves behind her Sister Donna Turuc, Brother Salvatore Favata, and many nieces and nephews. Her family takes comfort in knowing that Sandy was welcomed into heaven with open arms by her Mother, Mary, and Father, Joseph Favata reunited in love and laughter.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E Lake Ave, Tampa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay or a local animal rescue, or share a treat with a four-legged friend in her name. Sandy would also nudge you to hug your loved ones tight, whip up some spaghetti sauce, sip some Budweiser, and live as boldly as she did.
Keep laughing, loving, and shining, Sandy. You’re forever our brightest star.
