Sherrie "Susie" Sue Hutchinson

Sherrie Hutchinson, aka “Susie”, “Charlie” and Mom, 74, was born in St. Albans, WV and passed away on October 3, 2016 at 74 years old. Sherrie is survived by John, her loving husband of 57 years; her sister, Diana Sharp of St. Albans, WV; her son, John (Maria), of Lutz, FL; son, Mark (Danna) of Lindsay, OK; as well as two grandchildren, Cash & Sophia. Sherrie attended St. Alban’s High School where she was President of the Girls’ Athletic Association, sports editor of the newspaper, chorus member, Bible club and the state champion twirling team. One of her greatest interests was hospital volunteer work where she served over 10,000 hours. She was President of the Auxiliary at Sisters of Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City and served on the Board of Directors of that hospital. Upon leaving Oklahoma City, she was awarded a lifetime membership in the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. That was the first time in history that such an award had been presented. Sherrie has been a loyal supporter of St. Paul Catholic Church, Metropolitan Ministries and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Carrollwood Country Club, served as Secretary of Carrollwood Investment Club and past member of Tampa Grads. She enjoyed golf, homemaking and was an avid reader. Christmas with her was always magical. She always lived with great joy and enthusiasm and was happiest when caring for others. She loved reaching out to those in need. She was a wonderful wife and mother totally devoted to her family. She was passionate about her friends and their needs. When people think of her they think of joy and good will. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude’s Pl., Memphis, TN. 38105. Great lives never go. They go on. Peace be with you! A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:00am on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W.
