

Steven Tenny passed away peacefully in his home in Odessa on January 7, 2023. Steve was born to the late Ruth and James Tenny on March 25, 1960, in New York, NY, and grew up in the Manhattan area. He began his career with FedEx in New York later transfering to Tampa, ultimately becoming a Senior Manager over the Tampa Bay area. Thereafter, Steve began his real estate career by forming Elite Mortgage Lenders, and The Title Depot. Recently, he worked in facilities with OSI Group and Ruth’s Chris as a Facilities Manager.
Steve was a kind and gentle spirit. He had a heart of gold, and his presence was larger than life. He was a man who loved to make people laugh, and reminisce about their fun times. Steve's most prized possession was his family, and he relished their time together. He was married to the love of his life, Alicia (Menendez), and they were set to celebrate their 25th Wedding Anniversary this April. They raised their twin sons, Logan and Conner, in a loving home where there was always good conversation and humor.
Steve concluded each year with his family’s cherished tradition: a Christmas Eve Pig Roast. His favorite things to do were spending time at the beach with his family, or joining his buddies for offshore fishing trips. Steve loved many sports, especially those of his sons’. For 13 years, he coached their Little League and Travel Ball teams. He and his family have been members of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Lutz for over 20 years.
Steve is predeceased by his parents, Ruth and James Tenny, and mother in law, Marta Bautista. He is survived by his wife, Alicia; his children, Conner, Logan and Kerstin (Brian) Pullen; sisters, Suzanne (Richard) Fulmer, Elissa (Peter Haratonik) Tenny, and Joan Tenny; nieces, Sarah (Gerry O’Neal) Fulmer, Katya (Daniel Haberman) Haratonik, Tess Haratonik, and nephew, William Fulmer. Steve is also survived by his father in law, Luis (Francoise) Menendez; sister in law, Marta (Randy) Menendez Lyons; brother
in law, Luis (Diane) Menendez; nieces and nephews, Joshua Lyons, Alicia Menendez, Stephan Lyons, and Alec Menendez. Steve also shared a very special relationship with numerous friends he considered family, too many to name.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Carrollwood, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue, Tampa on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00, with the funeral service at 3:00.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Steve’s name to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay or the American Heart Association.
