Tamara L. Castor, 64, passed away surrounded by her loving family, after a valiant battle with cancer. Tamara, or Tammy to her family and Aunt Mimi to her niece, nephews and anyone under the age of 30, was preceded in death by her father Walter “Red” Castor. Those left with wonderful memories and broken hearts are her mother Carolyn Castor-Newby, Amy (Dr. Remy) Palumbo, Brian (Mary) Castor, Jane (Ana Cruz) Castor, Kelly (Shannon) Castor and her favorite people – niece Lauren (Edouard) Fiess, nephews Thomas Palumbo, Alex & Beau Castor, and Seely & Sergei Castor Bevan. Many will remember Tammy from her years of service at Rough Rider’s, Selena’s and Jackson’s restaurants. She was an amazing individual who was loved by all she knew and someone who never met a stranger. She was a great sister and friend, who had a wonderful sense of humor and knew the value of laughter. The world will be a little less bright without her. The family would like to thank Dr. Menezes who redefined ‘going above and beyond’. He is an angel in ordinary clothing. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bridge Healthcare Clinic (Fund #31-0022) at USF Foundation would be appreciated. Thank you to all who have made this difficult time more bearable through a kind word, fond memory or hilarious story. She loved us all. Rebecca Bailey at Blount & Curry, 3207 W. Bearss Ave., is handling every detail of our farewell celebration. Visitation will be this Friday 4/13/18 from 5-8, followed by a service on Saturday 4/14/18 at 10 am.
