Terri Jean Nord, 70, of Tampa, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 27, 2023. She was surrounded by her family, friends, and beloved puppy “Mitzi,” who loved her so very much. Terri was born on May 1st, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to parents John Nord and Lorraine Parkes Large. Terri moved with her family to Tampa in 1962 where she spent most of her life. Terri will be remembered for her world-class hugs, infectious smile, and having a highly autobiographical memory, which allowed her to recall dates and life experiences in vivid details.
Terri fought beautifully for many years and was given the most exceptional care from her “ladies”; Missy, Susie, Dale, Wendy, Terry, Susan and Debbie. Our family cannot thank these caregivers enough for their kindness and love for Terri over the last few years. Much love and thanks to her wonderful neighbors Zelma, Bob, Suzanne & Mike for their friendship and special flower-a-day and inspirational notes that Terri so looked forward to each and every day.
Most important to Terri was her family. Terri is preceded in death by her parents, and sister Kim Nord. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lorrie & Mark Eilers of Tampa; niece, Rachel Eilers of Tampa, nephews Travis Eilers of Tampa, Shane Eilers currently residing in Ann Arbor, MI; and Alex Heinrich of Waynesville, NC.
The family will hold a private interment ceremony at the Columbarium at Lake Magdalene Methodist Church and a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date. The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to Moffitt Cancer Center in Terri’s name.
