Violet Gil Valdes, 86, of Tampa, Florida peacefully passed way surrounded by family on Monday, October 14, 2024. She was born on September 18, 1938 to Manuel and Josephine (Fernandez) Gil. She was a 1957 graduate of Jefferson High School. She worked several years at Centro Asturiano Hospital as Supply Clerk and then went on to a successful career as a Health Support Technician and Mid-Wife with the Hillsborough County Health Department. She loved playing Bingo and Dominos with her friends, eating anything that was sweet and watching entertainment and gossip programs on Telemundo or Univision.
She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Valdes. She has four sons, Albert Gil, Kenny (Debbie) Gil, Manuel (Shalini) Valdes, Roy (Pam) Valdes and eight (8) grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her caring personality as she greeted everyone with a “Hi Honey”, telling them “You’re so sweet” and commenting that “I love you” when saying good-bye.
A Memorial Service will take place at 2pm on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Blount and Curry Carrollwood Funeral Home located at 3207 W. Bearss Ave. Tampa, FL. 33618. The family will receive friends one hour prior starting at 1pm for a visitation.
