Vivian Accomando Garcia

Garcia, Vivian A., 88, passed away (Tampa, FL) into the arms of our Lord on October 16, 2024. She was born in Santo Stefano Quisquina, Sicily, Italy to Francesco Accomando and Maria Grazia Pizzuto Antinori. In 1948, at the age of 13, she immigrated with her parents, along with three of her siblings, to the United States. At an early age she helped her parents whenever she was needed. She was a caring and loving person who was the first one to volunteer if someone was sick or in need. She had a great personality, witty, and fun to be around. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, aunt. She especially loved her nieces, nephews, and stepchildren. She worked as a lunchroom assistant at Greco Middle School, Essrig Elementary, and Chamberlain High School and received numerous certificates of excellent service. She always greeted the students with a big smile and knew most of them by name. She retired from the School System after seventeen years of service.

Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Garcia; her parents; and siblings, Lily Pensiero, Francesca Messina, John Accomando, Evelina Accomando. Her sister Giovanna Marullo died five days after her death. She is survived by her sister Santina (Vittorio) Messina, stepdaughter Evie Fernandez, stepson Roger Garcia Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on November 23, at 11 a.m., St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5103 N. Central Avenue, Tampa FL. Interment to follow at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
