Annie Kunze died on January 9, 2022 at the age of 91. Annie was born May 6, 1930 at Ad Hall, Texas near Cameron to Charlie and Louise (Beckhusen) Hoes. She was baptized October 10, 1948 and confirmed November 7, 1948 at Salem Lutheran Church in Rosebud.
On December 24, 1953 she married Willie Adolph “Bill” Kunze in Burnet Texas and were married 37 years until Bill's passing in 1991. Annie and “Bill”operated the Hoedown Club in Taylor for many years. Annie operated a snowcone stand on Main Street for several years. Annie was a very talented seamstress who also sewed for family and the public for many years.
Bill and Annie Mae Kunze established Taylor Butane Co., Inc. in 1960. Donald Kunze, Bill and Annie Mae’s son, took over the business in 1976 and operated it with his late wife Nancy until three of their four children took it over in 1996. The propane business has crossed through three generations of the Kunze family and is still going today.
Annie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since February 8, 1988.
Annie was preceded in death by her spouse Bill; her parents; stepsons Raymond and Donald Kunze; step daughter-in-law Nancy Kunze; step-granddaughter Deanna Yates; 2 step-great-grandchildren Wesley and Chase Belcher; brothers Herbert, Robert, Otto, and Charlie Hoes; sisters Edna McNeese and Adline Greenwell.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Cantrell (Henry); Jackie Krueger (Harold). Grandchildren Carmella Cantrell, Trey Krueger (Nicole), and Clayton Krueger. Great-grandchildren Weston Hanson, Blaine and Ethan Krueger.
She is also survived by step-daughter Carolyn Roepke (Larry); step-grandchildren Wayne Belcher, Kent Kunze (Missy), Stephanie Patschke (Chad), Joshua Kunze (Hannah), Grady Kunze, and Sarah Drury (Craig), along with numerous step-greatgrandchildren and step-great-greatgrandchildren.
The family would like to extend its most sincere gratitude to Franklin Park Round Rock, Baylor Scott and White Hospice Care, & Blue Water Home Care for providing extra care for Annie. Special thanks to Billie, Kim, Nora, Barbara, Jennifer, Courtney, Krystale with Franklin Park, Laurie, Mindi, Bryce, Chantel with BS&W Hospice, & Aseline, Blessing, Jennifer, Kelcie, Leonecia, Angie, Patricia with Blue Water Care.
Visitation will be at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor from 6-8pm. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor at 10:00am, officiated by Pastor Scott Schaller, with burial at Taylor City Cemetary. Pallbearers will be Trey Krueger, Clayton Krueger, Weston Hanson, Kent Kunze, Joshua Kunze, & Kody Kunze..
