On November 14, 2020, Barbara Jo Sandobal (Ferguson) passed on peacefully at Seton Medical Center Williamson. A lifelong Texas native, born on Texas Independence Day in Taylor, to Virgil W. Ferguson and Christine Ferguson. She was passionate about her faith, caring for her family and being generous with her hands. She was a loving, selfless MawMaw who found great joy in providing much needed care and comfort to her grandchildren. Barbara was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Bartlett and spent much of her life giving back to her community. She was passionate about the City of Bartlett and worked tirelessly providing meals, assisting with the Blue Santa Program, organizing the Old Town Friendship Festival, preserving the historic value of the City of Bartlett, and helping others in any way she could, especially in hours of need. She volunteered at the Zion Walburg School Cafeteria, Capital Area Food Bank and supported various Veteran organizations. Barbara was a member of the Bartlett City Council, a member of the Bartlett Chamber of Commerce and served the citizens of Bartlett as Mayor pro-tem. Barbara was an advocate for the safety of the citizens of Bartlett and a major supporter of the Bartlett Police Department. She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil W. Ferguson and Christine Ferguson and husband, Edward Sandobal. Barbara is survived by her five children, Jason Ferguson (Jamiesue) of Walburg, TX, Barton Lange (Heidi) of Kuwait, Clinton Sandobal of Tampa, FL, Ciprian Sandobal (Laura) of Leiland, NC, and Melissa Kozak (Andrew) of Aldie, VA. She was the proud MawMaw to 14 grandchildren (who could do no wrong), Jordan & Jaycee Ferguson, Allison Lange Groves (Jacob), Sydney & Isabella Lange, Nadia & Leilani Sandobal, Austin McClenahan, Caley, Madison & Kalani Sandobal, Kylie, Malia & Tighe Kozak. Recently a Great MawMaw to Wyatt Groves and Malakhi Sandobal. Barbara is also survived by her brother Virgil Ray Ferguson (Linda) of Bartlett, TX and sister Patsy Bennett of Topeka, KS. Thank you to the Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital for the compassionate care for our mom and our family during her time of need. Everyone who cared for her truly meets Setons core values. The family will host a memorial to celebrate her life at a later date, with more info to be shared then.
