

Dorothy was born in Bartlett, Texas on October 8, 1936, to James Alford and Vivian Thomas, Dorothy graduated from Bartlett High School in 1955. She married John Gilmore on November 10, 1961; they were married for 48 years.
She worked at the Bartlett ISD for 32 years. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she also loved watching Dancing with the Stars, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Dorothy is survived by her children Sheri Braun, husband Tommy of Bartlett, Shelton Gilmore, wife Debbie of Bartlett, Sam Gilmore, wife Sibylle of Little River, Scott Gilmore, wife Lisa of College Station, a brother John Thomas of Florence Grandchildren, Kayla Braun of Bartlett, Matt Braun, wife Kelli of Bartlett, Dillon Gilmore, fiancée Kasandra of Burnet, Rachel Brummett, husband, Robert of Holland, numerous nieces and nephews, and 14 great grandchildren, along with many other friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, James Alford and Vivian Thomas, Husband John Gilmore, sister Jimmie Jan Murray, and brother James Lynn Thomas.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 3, 2025, from 6PM to 8 PM, the services will follow at 10AM on Saturday January 4, 2025. Goodnight Funeral Home of Bartlett, Texas will be conducting the services.
Honorary pallbearers are Teagan Braun, Brad Braun, Brody Braun, LJ Williams, John Robert Brummett. Shelton Gilmore, Sam Gilmore, Scott Gilmore, Tommy Braun, Matt Braun, and Dillon Gilmore will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you consider making a memorial donation in Dorothy’s honor to The Bartlett Fire Department, The Will-O-Bell Activities Center, or The First Baptist Church of Bartlett.
