Emma Heselmeyer

She was born January 18th 1926 to John and Emma Quebe Synatzske in Taylor.

She married Robert Heselmeyer on March 6th 1946 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son – Bobby Ray, daughters Lynn Fay and Melissa Heselmeyer, son-in-law Ervin Volek, 1 sister and 10 brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Volek; granddaughter Stephannie Woelfel and husband Edward; great-granddaughter Madalynn Woelfel; and great-grandson Logan Woelfel, all of Taylor, TX; one sister, Martha Faykus of Bartlett; one brother, Franklin (“Butch”) Synatzske of Ft. Worth; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Emma was a farmer’s wife and his companion in the fields; when you saw one the other was close behind. She retired from farming after her husband’s death. She went to work for Taylor ISD as a cook in the cafeteria at the High School and Naomi Pasemann. She was known for her chicken dumplings, broccoli cheese soup and homemade bread sliced to perfection.

She was also known for her beautiful yard, and her flower and vegetable gardens. She enjoyed canning everything for her family.

After a day’s work, she relaxed by sitting at the sewing machine where she sewed countless clothing items, home décor accessories and anything her girls wanted. She quilted special quilts for her granddaughter, great-granddaughter and great-grandson, as well as many other beautiful special quilts. Prior to her passing she had spent 27 years free from cancer; and was a 64 year member of the New Bern Sons of Hermann; and a member of SPJST Lodge #29.

The family would like to thank Eduardo Benavides, all the staff at Granger Villa and Resolution for the loving care they bestowed on Emma during her stay.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Taylor or Taylor Brethren Church.

Serving as pallbearers are Alvin Faykus, Jim Roepke, Joey Quebe, Nathan Tedford, Edward Woelfel; honorary pallbearers are Madalynn Woelfel and Logan Woelfel.

A visitation will be held at Condra Funeral Home on Monday November 5th 2012 at 6:pm.
