Carol and I went to school together and I will always remember Mrs. Finn's beautiful face and great smile. It was so good to see her and Sharmin in Walmart in Taylor about a year ago. 

To the Finn family, I send my condolences and prayers. Rest in peace Mrs. Finn and I know you will be your family's guardian angel. Blessings to you all.

My memories of Florence started 25 plus years ago, when I married her daughter, Carol.  The fondest memories are the last few years of life when we were caring for her.  She taught me how to care for her animals.  I was her go to fix it man and in emergencies, her TV remote control reprogrammer (of which she had many).  Some of the fondest memories were taking her to her doctor appointments in Round Rock (Taylor and Temple), and hear her reminiscing of her days of high school of which she graduated.  And hearing about her marching band days and Round Rock donuts.  She even rode on the back of a Harley Davidson (in a dress) of which her father did not approve.  I enjoyed dining out with her.  Her favorite places were Big Bob's Catfish in Georgetown (where her husband's hat is hanging to this day), Mas Fajitas and Red Lobster (for her birthday).   She was quick witted and knew what she liked and what she did not like.  I will miss spending time together.

so sorry for your loss. my memory about your mom  n dad is from us picking cotton at their place in Hutto  , she would always come out with Kool-Aid for all of us which was like an angel bringing us shade on a very hot day.      n your dad , omg , he n my dad knew each other from  child hood so I feel privileged  to have known them

My condolences to the family . Florence and her husband were great friends of my father ,they went back many years and i got to meet them when we use to work on there farm for them. She would always bring tea or lemonade out to the field for us,on those hot days .Not too many employers do that but this lady was 1 of a kind she had a big heart. In  my adult years I ran into them just before her husband passed away and we talked about the good old days and my father we laughed and cried and i will always treasure that visit. 
I now sit and cry over this great loss .RIP SWEET LADY.

The Finn family is special to me, we've been friends for over 30 years. A few years ago I learned  Florence Finn was ill and had asked her daughter Sharmin to see if I would speak at her funeral, at the time it had been several years since I had  last seen her, the thought of her funeral made me sad, but even sadder was the thought it had been many years since I last visited the Finn's home as now many miles lay between our families. 

I asked myself, if it was important to voice my friendship in death, I believe it became even more important for me to voice friendship in life before her passing. So I made the 1000 mile trip to to Taylor, Texas from Florida to pay my respects. When I arrived, I was greeted with the same warmth I always felt in the Finn home. The warmhearted conversation that followed buoyed us both and feel she felt as happy as I that it took place in her home and not a funeral home. 

We all have a need for love and friendship, can we ever be fulfilled without either or both?  One doesn’t necessarily, plan it, sometimes it just happens, it was that way for me and the whole Finn family. 

A year or so later on a business trip to Houston, I had empty afternoon, so I borrowed a car and drove the 200 miles to Taylor. The reception was the same, the laughter of enjoying each others company sharing old memories, all the time hoping it won't be the last. I am now deeply saddened it was.

My thoughts here are to express feelings for the entire Finn Clan.

The only way to have a friend is to be one.

Blue eyes, a ready  smile, a gentle voice—
Florence was always  ready to visit about her family and updated me about her grand daughters.  For the Christmas season, her church family always visited her home and she sang carols along with us.  I will miss our visits.  God got a new angel.
