

Leona Decker Fritz, 89, of Taylor died on Nov. 26. She was born Jan. 16,1921, in Hutto of parents, Emma and Herman Decker. She was baptized, confirmed, married, and will be buried at Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Taylor. She was valedictorian at Hutto High and served as a PTA volunteer for many years at Taylor schools, which presented her with the Texas Life Member award. Leona was the Immanuel Lutheran church organist for over 50 years. Her hobby was sewing, but her life work was helping her husband with all aspects of the farm and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Marvin Decker, and a sister Marietta Tucek. Survivors include her sister, Madeline Teichelman of Taylor; son Jonathan Fritz and wife Sharon of Hutto; two daughters, Virginia Crunk and husband Keith of Valley Mills, and Emily Simons and husband Charlie of San Antonio; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey Crunk and wife Sharon, Derek Crunk, Chris Fritz and wife Yvonne, David Fritz and wife Audra, Bethany Grissom and husband Russ, Luke Simons and wife Erika, and Lacey Simons; eight great-grandchildren, Elliott and Elizabeth Crunk, Madelyn and Abigayle Fritz, Ethan and Jack Fritz, and Jacob and Melaina Grissom. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jeffrey Crunk, Chris Fritz, Russ Grissom, Derek Crunk, David Fritz, and Luke Simons. Visitation will be Mon. at Condra Funeral Home, Taylor from 6 - 8 pm. The service will be Tues. at 3pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, West Taylor. Burial will follow at Immanuel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
