

Myron Lynn “Mike” Lawson, 90, of Round Rock, died peacefully in his sleep on October 27th 2013. Mike was born on June 12th 1923 to George and Ethel Lawson in Boone, Iowa. Mike married Wanda Mae Wallace in Boone on March 21st, 1945. Mike served proudly in the United States Marines, and was awarded 3 Purple Hearts, and 1 commendation while serving on active duty in the South Pacific during WWII.
Mike was a hardworking man that loved his country, and he was never afraid to role up his sleeves to help those in need. He loved to give. He was proud to be a Mason and honored their traditions. He was a volunteer in his church, and trusted Our Lord Jesus Christ to take him home someday. We know that he rejoices now in heaven with our beloved mother, his one true love in life.
Mike will be remembered by those that loved him for his forever smiling face, fun loving personality and perpetual non-stop energy.
Mike is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Wanda.
Survivors include his daughters Cheryl Duke of Houston, TX and Betty Weeks of Thrall, TX; his sons, William Lawson of Round Rock, TX, Thomas Lawson of San Antonio, TX and James Lawson of Grand Prairie, TX. Mike also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Services will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
