

Our beloved Mother, Sybil Zurovetz Mitchell, age 98, left us on January 12, 2013. Sybil was born in Granger, Texas, on November 20, 1914, to John and Frances (Kubala) Zurovetz and was the oldest of seven children. Sybil resided in Granger most of her life as a housewife and homemaker. After retiring from the restaurant business Sybil and her husband, Raymond (Mitch) Mitchell returned to Granger where she spent her remaining years of which the last five years were in the Granger Villa Nursing Home. Sybil was a very giving and loving person who loved to cook and bake. She was an excellent cook who was constantly baking and cooking for her family, friends and neighbors.
Sybil is survived by her 4 children, Georgia Kalmbach and husband Alton of Granger, Joe Zajicek and wife Beverly of Granger, Barbara Brown and husband Bill of Conroe, Carolyn Hodnett and husband Mickey of Austin and a step-son, Scottie Mitchell and wife Brenda of Baird, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Sybil is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, baby (girl) Zajicek, granddaughter Jean Ann Zajicek Falkenburg, and her six siblings, Albert Zurovetz, Frank Zurovetz, Johnny Zurovetz, Mary Naizer, Frances Antunes and Elick Zurovetz.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor, Texas. Funeral services will be held at Condra Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17th, 2013 at 10am. Interment will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Granger. Sybil's grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
