

PARKER, Jerry Lee, 69, of Tampa, left this earthly life for a more peaceful reward on Sunday, June 7, 2015. He was born June 9, 1945 in Hoopeston, IL and moved to Florida in 1977. Jerry is survived by his wife Culleen (Tracy) Parker; stepson, William James Gibbons, both of Tampa; brothers, Ken Parker and Jim Staton and sister, Mary Ford, all of Hoopeston, IL; also survived by his very good friend, Mike Gentry. Jerry served in the US Army, completing several tours in Vietnam. He then joined the Florida Army National Guard and retired as Platoon Sargent SFC-E7 from the 927th Medical Group in Jacksonville, FL. He was also employed by West Coast Brace & Limb putting on orthotics and fixing halos in most of the hospitals in the Tampa area until his retirement in 2002. He loved hunting, fishing and golfing in both, Central and Northern Florida, until his health no longer permitted such activities. Jerry is loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Thursday, June 11th at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, June 12th.
