Lt. Col. Richard Bryant passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Richard (Dick) Bryant was born in Lowell, MA. to Frank K. Bryant and Elizabeth Humphrey and lived his early years on his family farm in Dracut, MA. He left Dracut to attend the University of New Hampshire where he met Marjorie Covell, who would become his wife of 69 years. After graduating, Dick joined the US Air Force and headed to Mississippi for flight school with his new bride. He spent 22 years as a pilot. During assignment in Wiesbaden Germany, Dick earned his master's degree in education from the University of Southern California.
After retiring, Dick joined the teaching staff at Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach, FL. He also became the coach for the Embry Riddle golf team. He retired as Professor Emeritus.
Marjorie and Dick moved back to New England, settling in Kennebunk, ME. Being an avid golfer, Dick spent 18 years on the staff of Webhannet golf club in Kennebunk Beach.
Travel was a big part of Marjorie and Dick’s life. They traveled the world together and explored with passion. Gardening was another love… there were always fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers surrounding their home.
Dick is survived by daughters Tracy Jacobs and Jamie Parries, granddaughter Morgan Campbell and great-granddaughter Blair Campbell.
