

His family moved to Clearwater in 1951 from Springfield, New Jersey. Franklin was a noted home builder in Pinellas County and active in a number of civic organizations and the Shrine. Tim graduated from Clearwater High School in 1964 and the University of South Florida (Sociology) in 1989. In between, he served a tour of duty in Vietnam that ended during the Tet Offensive and was a disabled war veteran (PTSD), who served eight years and nine months in the army before managing businesses for 18 years and before becoming a publisher author. Among his military awards were the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal and Air Medal, with oak leaf clusters. A lifelong writer, Tim left business and pursued of career as a freelance journalist and author in 1994. Numerous feature articles of his were published regionally. He was the author of nine books and closely associated with World Publications' "Florida’s Fabulous Nature Series." His Florida’s Fabulous Natural Places (1999) is still available. He was also the author of an out-of-print novel, Under the Gun.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Phillips-Ohr, of Temple Terrace, and his sister, Leslie Galluzzo, of Littleton, Colorado.
