

William H. Nenninger October 23,1939 – July 17, 2016 Bill Nenninger went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2016 at the age of 76. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carole Ann Herber; his sister Colonel Ann Ashjian (Ret.) and brother Lt. Colonel Al Nenninger (Ret.); his children, Jane Bland and husband Doug, Catherine Butler and husband Peter, Sara Wiggins and husband Charlie, Dan Nenninger and wife Kaydee; his grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah Bland, William and Caroline Butler, Lillian, Kate, and Harper Jane Wiggins, and Nolan Nenninger. He was predeceased in death by his father and mother, Elmer and Gertrude Nenninger. Bill was born and raised in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, a town on the banks of the Mississippi River. He graduated from Cape Catholic High School. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Louis University and his master’s degree in engineering from the University of Missouri. He began his professional career at McDonald Aircraft in St. Louis, Missouri, and then spent more than 30 years with Anheuser-Busch, in St. Louis, Houston, Texas, and Tampa, Florida. Bill took most joy in his family and in service to his community throughout his life, including most recently as a member of the Temple Terrace Library Board, Meals on Wheels Volunteer, and Moffit Cancer Center peer volunteer, among many other organizations. He also was an officer and volunteer of Jesuit High School and Mary Help of Christians Parents’ Associations. He coached in the Temple Terrace Recreational Soccer League for many years. In addition, he served as a head elections clerk in Temple Terrace. He and Carole have been parishioners and volunteers at Corpus Christi Catholic Church for 33 years. The family thanks the following physicians who gave a wonderful quality of life while Bill courageously battled cancer for eight years: Drs. Peter Butler, Jingsong Zhang, Henry Hyatt, Hal Applebaum, Harris McIlwain, Julio Lautersztain, and Louis Pisters. In addition, we thank the Ruby Team of Lifepath Hospice. The family will welcome visitors from 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 21 at the Blount-Curry Funeral Home, 12690 North 56th Street, Temple Terrace, Florida. A Mass in Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, July 22 at 10:00 am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9715 North 56th Street in Temple Terrace. Bill’s final resting place will be at the Fort Wayne Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
