SHIMER, William B. (Bill) age 92, of Tampa, Florida entered the church Triumphant on February 24, 2018. Bill was born in 1925 in Chatfield, Minnesota. Subsequent to serving in the US Army during WWII, he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After working in the oil industry, he joined IBM where he retired as a marketing executive after 28 years of service. A Tampa resident since 1997, Bill served on the Board of the Tampa Palms Community Development District for 13 years where he managed the community irrigation system. He was a lifetime member of the Masons and Shriners. Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Barbara, 4 nephews, Mike Shimer (Nannette), Scott Shimer, Brad Orner, Brian Orner, a niece, Leslie Orner, a great nephew, Alex Shimer and great niece, Stephanie Shimer. A Memorial Service will take place at Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church, 420 Bullard Parkway, Temple Terrace on Saturday March 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM
