Billy Wayne McGuire was born to W.S. McGuire and Edna McGuire and he had three siblings, Thomas F. McGuire, Charles E. McGuire (both now deceased) and a surviving sister, Jackie Lynn McGuire Whittier. He was born at home in Simsboro, Louisiana on October 21, 1940. Mr. McGuire passed away on May 17, 2025 in Temple, Texas
He married Mary Ann Pilling on March 5, 1960. The marriage lasted 56 years until Mary Ann died on June 6, 2016. Not only did Bill die of a bad heart, but also a broken heart. He missed Mary Ann so much and wanted nothing more than to be with her again.
He grew up in Simsboro and Bossier City, Louisiana. He was also raised by his grandparents W.F. McGuire and Hattie Jean McGuire. Bill joined the army at the age of 17 and served 3 years in the artillery and as the driver for the Battery Commander of Ft. Hood.
He retired from Ralph Wilson Plastics Company also known as Wilsonart International in 1997 with 37 years of service. He started out as a Truck Driver for 9 years and eventually ended up back working in production and ended his career as an Area Manager on December 31, 1997.
He is survived by two daughters, Terri McGuire Hoelscher and Sherry McGuire Easley, and son-in-law Terry Easley, Four grandchildren, Kylie Wood, Hunter Sodek, Jacob Easley and Kacie Lewey, with her husband Bryant Lewey. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Brayden Sodek, Parker Easley, Hayse and Elliott Wood.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 3220 South 31st Street, Temple, TX.
A funeral service will at 11:00 AM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ocker Brethren Church Cemetery, Temple, TX.
