

Charles David Hagood (Dave) was born March 25, 1946 in Gadsden, AL and died Feb. 24, 2025 in Temple, TX. He was 78 years old. He was saved at the age of 13 during vacation Bible school. While attending Auburn University he felt a call to ministry. As a ROTC graduate his army assignment was in the Combat Arms of Armor. It was while he was stationed at Fort Hood he met his wife, Rebecca. After coming home from Korea, he married and enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated with a masters in religious education. He served churches in Tennessee and Texas. He also did a missionary tour in Osorno, Chile. After returning to the states he became a health inspector until he retired in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Stan and his son Jonathan.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca. His children Joanna Cook and husband James of Temple, Barbara Schulze and husband Nelson of Copperas Cove, Brian Hagood and wife Charisma of Toronto Canada, and daughter-in-law Amy of Holland, MI. His sister Pam Whitehead of AL. Ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Charles will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 3310 S WS Young Drive, Killeen, TX. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM, 3310 S WS Young Drive, Killeen, TX. A committal service will occur Friday, February 28, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Evergreen Bundrant Cemetery, Purmela, TX.
