

Funeral services with full military honors for Jose “Joe” Fonseca, Jr., 88, of Temple, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Temple. Rev. Ron Bowden will officiate. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. A time of visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.
Mr. Fonseca passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 in a Temple hospital.
Jose was born July 22, 1922 in Brownsville, Texas to Eusebio and Josephina (Ybarra) Fonseca.
PFC Fonseca served in the US Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #1820. He has lived in this area since 2002 coming from Cedar Park, TX. He attended the New Hope Community Church of Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Audavee Fonseca of Temple, a daughter, Marisela Flores of Corpus Christi; stepchildren, Rocky, Mark, and John Lum, Philisha Mueller and Joshua Young; one brother, Cleto Ramos; two sisters, Rosa Medrano and Stella Ramirez; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
