Mary Ann (Peterschmidt) McCrea

Mary Ann McCrea was born in 1937 in La Crosse, Wisconsin and was a graduate of Aquinas High School. She obtained an Associate’s degree from La Crosse Business School. She married Edwin McCrea in 1958 and has two daughters, Jeanne McCrea of Dallas, TX and Lori McCrea-Davis of Denton, TX and two grandchildren, Emily and Joseph Davis. She is survived by her husband, Edwin McCrea, retired from the U.S. Army and Mobile Chemical in Temple. Together they have two daughters, Jeanne and Lori, grandchildren Emily and Joseph, and sister Carol Scarborough of California.

Mary Ann was an active volunteer in many religious and charitable organizations, including the St. Mary’s Alter Society, Our Lady of the Angels Shelter, the Courtney Veterans Home & hospital and Terrace Park improvement Committee in Temple. She was also President of the American Legion Axillary Unit 277 and the Social Chairman of the Temple Review Club.

Mary Ann served as a teacher’s aide at Scott Elementary School in Temple for a number of years and enjoyed working with children. Hobbies included sewing and quilting and needlepoint.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 – 7:30pm on Thurs., May 19th at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home at 3220 31st St. in Temple. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, May 20th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Temple with a reception immediately following the service at the church.
