

Funeral services for Sarah Maude Wilson, 91, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple with Dr. David Harbour of Lakeview Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
She passed away Saturday September 14.
Sarah was born in Belton to James and Lillie (Messer) Cole on November 8, 1921. She was raised and educated in Belton where she graduated from high school. She married Lonnie W. Wilson on May 24, 1942 in Austin where they resided and raised their children.
Early in the 1970’s they moved to Lake Belton and lived there over 30 years. Shortly before Lonnie’s death in 2007 they moved to Temple.
Sarah was a diligent secretary for many years, primarily at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin and later at the SPJST in Temple. She was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church for many years and later often played the piano for her Bible group in Temple.
Sarah, known as Granny to her family, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Her husband, a daughter, and a grandson preceded her in death.
She will be missed by many including her son, Lonnie Wilson of Pflugerville, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. prior to the service at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple has been entrusted with arrangements.
