He was a graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, and served his country in the US Army.
Asil retired from the Vigo County School Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sharon; and his brother William Palmer.
Surviving are his son, Kevin E. Palmer and wife Regina; and three grandchildren, Brandon Payne, Easton Palmer, and Kylie Palmer.
Asil was an avid golfer, and enjoyed golfing with his friends.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to Mattox-Wood Funeral Home and Roselawn Memorial Park.
