Barbara Ellen Hylman

Barbara Ellen Hylman, 81, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at Union Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 19, 1937, in Terre Haute to Harold Glen and Bertha Ellen (Harris) Cormican. Barbara is survived by her son, Bradley Hylman and wife Lorraine Fuller of Terre Haute; grandson, Brent Hylman, his wife Connie and family of Terre Haute; and several other grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Everett Hylman; and a son, Howie Hylman. Barbara worked for 37 years for the Vigo County School Corporation. She began working as a secretary at Garfield High School and McLean Jr. High School from 1962 to 1970. She then moved to the administration building in 1970 and worked in the payroll department. In 1983, she became the Payroll Manager and served in that position until her retirement in 1999. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 2 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Barbara will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park.
