Barbara Ann Vines

Barbara Ann Vines, 85, of Sullivan, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Breckenridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Sullivan. She was born on March 23, 1933, in Kalamazoo, MI to Justin Hiram Smith and Velma Julie (Widmoyer) Smith. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Debbie Vines of Clearwater, FL and Karen Vines of Sullivan; grandson, Chris Vines of Terre Haute; great-grandson, Paxton Stout of Galveston, IN; brother, Donald Smith of Orange, CA; step-children, Frank Vines of Buchanan, MI; Jim Vines of Sawyer, MI; Jeanne Mestach of Mishawaka, IN; and Dennis Vines of Loganville, GA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Justin Lee Smith; sister, Dorothy Elaine Brandt; and a step-son, Bob Vines. Barbara worked for many years at Columbia Records as a systems analyst and computer programmer. She loved to do crossword puzzles, gardening, reading, crocheting, bowling, and watch football. Most of all, she loved to dote on her grandson. Per Barbara’s wishes, cremation was chosen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 6 at the shelter house in Sullivan City Park, 611 S. Main Street, Sullivan, IN. Please bring a covered dish.
