

Betty R. White, 86, of Rosedale, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, at Union Hospital. She was born on November 23, 1927, in West Terre Haute, to William H. and Rosetta (Woodruff) Boothe. She married Otis White on July 4, 1948.
Betty was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long time member of Sugar Grove Free Methodist Church and Rosedale Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook. Betty loved hosting her family and friends, especially on the holidays. In her spare time, she would travel and read. Betty cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She was lovingly known as Granny to many. She will be deeply missed.
Betty is survived by her children: Martha Pruiett and Judith Hutts, both of Rosedale, Ronald J. White and his wife Carol of Ft. Valley, GA, and Donald E. White and his wife Patricia of Clinton; grandchildren: Joe White and his wife Melinda, Jeremy Montgomery and his wife Sharon, Justin Montgomery and his wife Natalie, Joshua Montgomery and his wife Caryn, Matthew Pruiett and his fiancée Amanda, April Emerett, Tami Studey and her husband Troy, and Bob Pruiett, Jr. and his wife Tonya; great-grandchildren: Kendall, Lyla, Felicity, Scarlett, and Charlie Montgomery; Kena, Bobby III, and Jeremy Pruiett; Griffin Lyman, Taylor and Kyle Glazner, Brooklyn and Lane Studey, Austin Devine, Logan Bush, Kayla and James Abney, T.J. and Trevor Emerett, and Emma Leibert; a sister Lorene Batton of Newburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis; her parents; a sister Veneta Amerman, brothers, William H. Boothe, Jr., and L. Roy Boothe; and son-in-laws, Bobby Pruiett, Sr. and Michael Hutts.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Monte Vincent officiating. Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband in Roselawn Memorial Park.
