Bryon Ervin Yowell, 53, of Rosedale, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Union Hospital in Clinton. He was born on October 13, 1961, in Terre Haute to Barbara Baker. At the age of 5, Bryon went to live with his grandparents, Loretta and Ervin Baker. He married Robin Howk in June of 1983 and together they had a son, Rodney. He later married Lori Koch and they had a son, Brian. Bryon married Lisa Lowe on August 13, 2005.
Bryon left home at a young age and set out to explore the world. He was a member of the Sons of Silence Motorcycle Club for many years and always thought of them as family. A Cajun at heart, he lived in Louisiana for several years and became a diehard Saints and LSU fan as a result. He went to work as a superintendent for SL Feuquay where he was known for being firm yet fair, always likeable, and a hard worker.
Bryon was a daredevil, racing motocross professionally in his younger days. If he wasn’t racing, he filled his need for speed by watching motocross racing, Nascar, and Indy car races. He enjoyed being social and was a member of the Rosedale American Legion.
In his spare time, Bryon liked to relax with camping and fishing. He loved to go on vacations and was always looking forward to his next adventure with his wife, Lisa. Bryon doted on his beloved golden retriever, Ginger. He had a soft heart for animals. He had a zest for life that was contagious. He had a heart of gold and was generous to a fault. Bryon was always easy going, light hearted, and loved to joke around. He never met a stranger and left an impression on anyone he met. Bryon will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, and loyal friend. He especially cherished the time he spent with his family and friends.
Bryon is survived by his wife, Lisa Yowell of Rosedale; sons, Rodney Yowell of Valparaiso and Brian Obenchain; a brother, Bart Yowell of California; sister-in-laws, Shannon Wood and husband Neil, and Jacqui Emberton and children Shane and Ashlyn; a brother-in-law, Mike Emberton; and too many good friends to mention.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara King and his step-father, Joe King; his grandparents, Loretta and Ervin Baker; and his beloved mother-in-law Betty Lowe.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20 at Roselawn Funeral Home and from 11 until time of services on Thursday, May 21.
