Charles Roy Staats was born in Clinton on February 24,1950.He graduated from Clinton High School in1968.He then received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Political Science from Indiana State University in 1971 and continued on to receive a Masters of Science in 1972.
Charles leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Kathleen; and his two daughters, Cortney, wife of Matthew Nicol of Barrington, IL, and Kristin Staats of Fort Pierce, FL. He has two grandsons, Aspen Isaac and Chase Charles Nicol. He also leaves behind his father, Charles Warren Staats; his sister Ann, wife of Dr. Michael Lawyer of Terre Haute, IN, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty.
The funeral services will be held Sunday August 24, 2014 at the Roselawn Funeral Home at 6:00PM, with a visitation from 4-6PM at the funeral home. Officiating will be Mark Wallace, brother-in-law of North Carolina. Roselawn Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
