

Charmon Joan Orender, a life long Terre Haute resident, died peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Royal Oaks Health Care and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 81. Charmon was born May 11, 1930, the only child of James and Margaret (Spicer) Bush. On August 30, 1958, Charmon was united in marriage to Gilbert Lloyd Orender. After several years of loving marriage, Gilbert preceded Charmon in death on June 20, 1995. Charmon enjoyed working as an LPN and retired from what is now the UAP Clinic. She also worked at Union Hospital for some time. An avid traveler, Charmon enjoyed trips to many places, including Hawaii, as well as playing cards, crocheting and being active with the V.F.W. Post 972 Ladies Auxiliary. She will forever be remembered as a proud, caring and loving mother, grandmother and friend. Charmon leaves to cherish her memory her children, Barry Baker of Terre Haute, Darrell and wife Vicki Baker of Crawfordsville, Marsha Baker of Terre Haute, Verlin LeRoy Orender of Cottage Station, TX., Gilbert H. Orender of Bethlehem, PA. and Pamela and husband Robert Webster of Seeleyville; grandchildren, Tina Kindberg, Stacy Monce, Michelle Baker and Jimmy Baker, as well as many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Charmon was preceded in death by her step daughter, Marjorie Fleetwood. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 12 Noon until the time of Charmon’s funeral at 1 p.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in memory of Charmon may be directed to the Salvation Army or the Lighthouse Mission.
