Clifford Joseph “C.J.” Ellingsworth, 59, of Riverside, CA, passed away on April 16, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. C.J. was born on November 10, 1955, at Travis A.F.B. in Fairfield, CA, to Ben Ellingsworth and Betty Lou (Whitsit) Meeks.
C.J. proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for many years for McDonald-Douglas and Boeing in California. He enjoyed traveling and playing guitar. Most of all, C.J. cherished the time he spent with his daughter, Sydney.
C.J. is survived by his daughter, Sydney Ellingsworth of Riverside, CA; his father, Ben Ellingsworth of Wisconsin; sisters, Peggy Ellingsworth, Karen Ellingsworth, Tina Ellingsworth, and Mary Lou Meeks, all of Terre Haute; a brother, Mark Meeks of Brazil; an uncle, Dick King of Terre Haute; aunts, Judith Rudisel of Terre Haute and Jane Ellingsworth-Mills of Kansas; special friends, Adrienne and Israel Silva, Fernando and Edith Medina, and Harry Mutz, all of Riverside, CA; his best friend, Victor Santos of Westminster, CA; former wife Beatrice Peters of Germany; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Last but not least, his friends and colleagues in the Boeing family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Lou Meeks; step-father, Lester Meeks; a sister, Debra Ellingsworth, and a brother, Tommy Meeks.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home. C.J. will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park with military honors. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneral home.net
